Just found one under some rocks - looks the same - bright green about 2" long - has a dark longtitudinal stripe down each side - very fast! we have lived here 20 yrs (north yorkshire) and not seen one before. We have newts in the pond & it is definitely not a newt. Would like confirmation of what it is if anybody knows.
