Topic: 2008 spawning dates
Hi all ( my first post ) , first spawn in my small garden pond in Bristol city centre on Friday 15 February. Then the frosty nights stopped all activity. Thanks for earlier post advising bubble wrap, kept spawn ok whilst rest of pond froze each night during following week. Frogs resumed activities Thursday 21 Feb. 56 frogs was the highest number counted on surface at any time . Continued spawning up until this afternoon. Getting on for double the amount of spawn we had last year - evicting the fish 2 years ago seems to be working! If I sound chuffed it's because I am. scooter |
