Posted: 01 Nov 2003 Topic: Where to find adders in Dorset

I am a keen reptile enthusiast and often visit my parents who live in Dorset. Whenever I get the chance I like to get out and look for reptiles. Whilst I have seen plenty of grass snakes, frogs, newts and lizards, I have only ever seen two adders in all of my many excursions. One on Studland Heath and another by the railway in Corfe.

Can anyone give me any tips on exactly where to go and what to look for to improve my chances of seeing adders?

Thanks
