I have a tadpole in my pond that refuses to grow up.It has been there since june 2003.I have been watching it today 04/02/2004 swimming happily around. Will it ever evolve.

[QUOTE=administrator]

Ron, sometimes tadpoles will over-winter, the reasons are not always clear, but for some reason they do not complete development in a single season as most do.

It maybe because of conditions in the pond, too much competition from other tadpoles, lack of nutrients, the factors are varied.

Keep an eye on this one, I suspect it will metamorphose into a froglet this year!
