Topic: My toad photos
Lots of toads around here, around july/august I was seeing at least 1 every night. these photos had me lying on the wet stony drive trying to use car headlights to focus with. ended up resorting to AF. but only the once... (1p piece for size comparison) rescued these from the sandpit, but brought them in for a few decent shots first. |

rescued off the road. again rescued of the road, penny was for size comparison. wondering about attempting to captive breed some to release into some nature ponds/marshy area when their big enough. |

no decent photos of the throat, most of mine I tried to get near eye level or above. plus I keep the camera in full manual, so need both hands, so getting the newt into position wouldn't be easy however, I did find another newt outside last night, and it looked quite different to what I was used to. about twice as big as the babies, but 1/3-1/2 smaller than the adult pictured at the beginning. |

there's a couple lakes within a miles radius (fishing ones though.) I have a pond, however its not very accessible for frogs/toads/newts as its based in a 1/2 whiskey barrel. I am planning a bog garden/pond area, but that's still got to happen, there also is a stream about 200 meters down the road. there are also lots of trenches in the garden. as it's still somewhat of a building site, and the ground retains water very well, so there is usually a decent depth of water near the foundations of the garage |

that would make them all palmates then. will keep an eye out for them, as the babies in particular are very cute. though I wish they'd stop moving so I could get better photos |
