I have recently become interested in snakes. I have spent so much time in the countryside over the years watching animals & birds but only recently realised that I have never seen a snake! Despite numerous visits to what I thought would be the most likely spots I have still never seen 1!!! I live in Moray in the North of Scotland, could anyone tell me the best way to go about observing snakes?

As someone who has spent a lot of time looking for snakes in the wild and still never seen one I find this really sad.

Thanks for this. My brother remembers seeing quite a few adders when he was a child on the paths among the heather near where we lived. (quite high in the hills) I guess I will just have to hope I come across them.

Regards
