To make way for new construction they moved  290 adders, 400 grass snakes, 17,000 common lizards and 6,000 slow worms.

Hi Will,

Gosh, I hadn't realised that it had caused such an outcry!  My initial thought was that it was a lot of lizards and not many snakes.

Translocation distance aside, their new Wiltshire home doesn't look very good for reptiles.
