Posted: 09 May 2005 Topic: Adder Sex

Greetings, I am new on this forum, and have only been in the UK for 4 years. I saw my first adder last week in the mendips near cheddar. Photo are attached. Could anyone tell me sex of this snake. Also how safe is it to tail an adder?

Posted: 12 May 2005 Topic: Spotting Grass Snakes in the field

Having seen and photographed my first adder recently, I am now eager to see a Grass snake. Does anyone have any tips on how to find Grass Snakes in the field. Do they bask as much as adders? Is it worth finding a likely pond and sitting quietly and waiting?
