Just signed up and live on border of E Gloucestershire/N Wilts/W Oxon (near Lechlade on Thames).
I'm a keen birdwatcher who has recently begun to obsess about UK reptiles (maybe as they are hard to see and I have racked up a lot of UK rare bird species). Question is, are UK reptiles very under-recorded?
The distribution maps I have checked show very few records of any species in this area but having just got my eye in with Grass Snakes have seen 3 this Spring in the general area. Also, I know of two recent Adder records within a short distance of home. Can anyone provide advice of reptiles in the area.
Many thanks

Many thanks Steve, I'll be happy to take up your advice. Presumably the NBN is where I should post any records.

Thanks again

Dear Peter (Williams),

Forgive me but I've already forgotten your 'site name'.
Anyway, just to say thanks for today and my first Oxfordshire Adder.
Nice to see the Slow Worms (and the earlier Common Lizard) too.
Hope to hook up with you later in the week. Same place.
Best

Shame I miised out on the Grass Snake...4 in 1 day would have been good
for me!

Hi Paul,

Try this: chris.mclaren@saltwaypublishing.co.uk

Hope to be going back to the site (to write up my 'walk') on Thursday
morning.

Might it be possible to use some of your/the reserve's pics to illustrate
the article - proper credits, of course?

In any case, looking forward to seeing your shots.

Best

Hi,

I live pretty close to Burford......would you like me to do some checking
on the population(?) sown on your map?

If so, can you give me a steer as to where to start looking next Spring?

I can post my emaiul address if you wish to keep this under wraps.

Best

Dear Steve,

I'll wait to hear from you then and follow up when and as appropriate.

Best

Chris
