Posted: 29 Feb 2008 Where are all my toads, each year I help hundreds of toads cross to a large breeding pond along with some frogs and newts. This starts from mid Feb, but this year I have only had 5 toads and 10 frogs so far is this reflected elsewhere or is it localised? Thanks Mark |

Posted: 01 Mar 2008 Mark, I'm in Surrey and have reasonable numbers crossing but in spurts rather than hundreds at one time. I'm not sure if this has happened to others across the country. The weather bods are predicting a storm on monday and hopefully after that it will turn to a westerly wind. Any time after monday I'd say the toads will be seen in numbers. still waiting like you. Rob RobV |
