Posted: 13 Apr 2006 Been up to my local site a few times and not seen a trace of anything adder like. I must either be blind(which is a distinct possibility!) Or they aren't liking the weather(sunny but with a fair bit of wind) Its a bit frustrating for me- hopefully my luck will eventually change. Mark Hampshire Amphibian and Reptile Group. |

Posted: 13 Apr 2006 I've had a similar experience, walked for miles on local common and saw nothing . I then noticed seven individuals all within 200 yds of the car pack, an area I'd not looked at closely because I'd presumed that all the walkers and dogs would drive them away . Still, its all good exercise. |

Posted: 13 Apr 2006 Woodlouse are you talking of Woodbury? When I'm out with my brother in the summer there is a place on Woodbury next to a busy track where we often see 3 or 4 within feet of each other. But there are long, seemingly good, stretches where we never see any adders. If you walk on Aylesbeare Common at all I'd be interested to hear what you think of it adder-wise. Suz |

Posted: 14 Apr 2006 Hi Suzi, Yes it's Woodbury. I've not yet explored Aylesbeare, but it's on my list. I'll let you know what I find. |
