Posted: 10 Dec 2007 Hi foks Hope its OK to ask for another foreign identification? Ive recently been catching a bit of winter sun in Oman on a work assignement. While driving from Nimr up to Nizwa last week we had a quick photo stop in the desert. The very first shrub I looked at had this snake in. At first I thought was shoelace but it remained motionless long enough to take some pics and then made its escape very rapidly into some other nearby mini bushes and evaded my clumsy attempts to catch it I think it may be a variety of sand snake or racer?
Thanks Dave

Posted: 11 Jan 2008 Hi Dave
I doubt if I'd do a lizard book. In all honesty, I think I'll have left Arabia well within the time frame that a book on lizards would take (missing South Africa). There are a few very good lizard guys about like Drew Gardner and Thomas Wilms who would be better qualified for that. I'd be happy to do the illustrations though.
Take care
