HI ALL, AS A NEW MEMBER TO THE SITE I WISH I DIDN'T HAVE TO POST THIS THREAD!
OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS I HAVE FOUND 10 ADULT FROGS, 2 JUVENILE, AND ONE NEWT DEAD IN AND AROUND MY PONDS. MY GARDEN CONSISTS OF A LARGE 3500 GALLON KOI POND WITH MORE THAN ADEQUATE FILTRATION, THIS IS OXYGENATED VIA A 15FT STREAM WHICH IS ALSO PUMPED AND FILTERED, I ALSO HAVE A REASONABLE SIZED WILDLIFE POND INTO WHICH I TRANSFER ANY AMPHIBIANS WHEN THEY APPEAR IN THE KOI POND, FOR FEAR OF THEM BEING EATEN BY THE KOI! I HAVE NOT PUT ANY TREATMENT INTO EITHER POND IN RECENT MONTHS! I HAVE JUST OBSERVED SOMETHING VERY STRANGE INDEED, WHILST CUTTING MY GRASS AN ADULT FROG MADE AN APPEARANCE ONTO MY LAWN, AFTER FETCHING MY CAMERA AND TAKING SOME GREAT PHOTO'S OF THIS SUBJECT, SAT WITH HIS/HER MOUTH OPEN, IT HOPPED INTO THE STREAM, HERE IT SAT AGAIN WITH ITS MOUTH OPEN UNTIL I RETURNED APRROX 5 MINS LATER TO FIND IT DEAD! COULD THIS BE SOME SORT OF VIRUS BEING TRAMSMITED TO THE AMPHIBIOUS WILD LIFE IN MY GARDEN? INCIDENTALLY I HAVE NOT LOST ANY FISH ! HAS ANYONE ENCOUNTERED SOMETHING SIMILAR? THANKS PAUL

most probulay rana viurs ( redleg )
i suggest u contact them ....
http://www.froglife.org/Diseaseranavirus.htm
ranavirus is a big risk .. u canot move any of ur amphibians or water ... it could end up spreading to more areas .. and it would be huge impact on the local eco-system
hope it goes well tomj38902.5574884259

Thanks for your reply,
I have had a similar suggestion from another web site, I will observe any survivors for effects (as soon as I have researched what to look for!
Is there anything I can do?
regards
Paul
