Feel free to add your own.   Pictures taken today at a East Hampshire site. It took me a while to find one that stood still long enough!

Steve,
No females or juvs from what I could see, most of the time all I heard was a rustle or a tail disappear into the undergrowth!  I think I'll have to look a bit more further ahead next time...

heh...

One good trick is, when you hear the rustle, mark the spot, so when you return you can slow down and have a good look at where it was.

I was timing how long it took Sandies to return to basking last weekend, from being startled. I never managed to count to 100 (slowly) before they re-appeared

It did cross my mind about using a similar method so I'll put some effort in to it actually using it on my next visit.   Today was mainly a day to try and get photographs though I did log any sightings I had.  Of course, I'll be wanting to increase the total number of animals seen next time.   Hopefully Saturday will be good.

Here

Here are some pics of some Sand Lizards encountered today at Crooksbury Common in Surrey.  Some of us went on there after the field trip. They seem well established in this location and were scattered over a wide area.  In fact, they were our commonest reptile.  There's a nice green male above and a large female below
