Posted: 21 Apr 2008 Hi, found this little beauty at the weekend, only a few inches long (so I guess a neonate). Is this not a bit early in the year to find such small adders, I always thought they gave birth in late August? I also saw a pair mating at the same location... so I'm a bit confused! Unless a one-off pair decided to breed in the middle of winter?! Any ideas anyone? Cheers. Robbie |

Posted: 21 Apr 2008 Last September's juveniles - they don't feed over winter, so they won't have grown much since they were born. Their first major growth spurt will start once they start getting some chow down the hatch over the next weeks.
