Posted: 15 Jul 2005 I am interested in spotting local reptiles around the Sheffield area. Can anyone tell me if they know of a local Herp club/individual around my area who may be able to point me in the right direction? I am mainly intersted in the study of reptiles especially snakes.
Many thanks Yorky. |

Posted: 16 Jul 2005 Yorky Contact the Sorby Society who are based in Sheffield and cover a wide area around the city. Their web site is: http://www.shu.ac.uk/city/community/sorby/index.shtml They have done a lot of reptile work around the area and according to the website they still have copies of their 1997 Reptiles and Amphibians of the Sheffield Area & North Derbyshire publication, which includes distribution details and dot maps, available for ú3.00 plus postage. I know that at least one person who contributed lots of reptile records to that report does occasionally look at this site so he might reply to you. I will draw it to his attention when I next speak to him. Derbyshire Amphibian & Reptile Group www.derbyshirearg.co.uk |
