I have just spotted a snake swimming across the canal in Heybridge, Essex. It was about 45cms long, slender and a light brown/tan colour. Sorry I wasnt close enough to see any markings. Its quite near a pet shop so maybe its an escapee........... Any ideas?

Mmmm,

Heybridge eh. Sounds like it could be a tan headed brown snake.
