Hi everyone,

I've had a request from a group planning to install a toad tunnel to find out whether anyone who has been involved in putting in toad tunnels in the past can give some practical advice. They would especially like to know how successful these have been and whether there have been any problems since, and if so, advice on how these might be avoided in their project.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Sue

Sue,

Surrey ARG coordinated the installation of a toad tunnel and permanent drift fence a year or two ago, Gareth Matthes led the project I believe. As a reference Amphibians and Roads ISBN 0 9515172 0 1 takes a look at a number of projects and the problems involved but may now be rather out of date.
