Posted: 28 Aug 2007 lovely pic. those babies seem quite big already. we saw loads in conwy this weekend but they all seemed smaller. do you know of any campsites near hear. this year we've camped at allt gymbyd near llanarmon where we found amphibians and abbey farm near llangollen where we found amphibians and slowworms but no lizards. both sites are fairly close to llandegla but we're always on the lookout for somewhere new to try. looking forward to your other pics. tim

Posted: 03 Sep 2007 cheers dave...some really nice pics there. when we were at llangollen we asked the site owner, who had lived locally all his life, if there were any reptiles around. he advised usto try llandegla moor as there were none around the site. we would have followed his advice if we hadn't crossed the main road, walked ten yards up a hill, turned a stone and found three slowworms! with a bit more effort, i reckon we could find lizards etc at the same site, but it'll have to wait til next year now. is evie still showing an interest? my kid's interest fluctuates a little, but over the last bank holiday, for virtually every minute of two of the four days we were camping near conwy they were hunting, catching and building habitats for lizards and slowworms. they really had a really amazing time. cheers tim |

Posted: 04 Sep 2007 Yeah,we have frogs toads and newts in the garden, but her favs are lizards. She will not hold newts for some reason ,apparantly because they are too stinky.(shes only 2). Llangollen is renowned for slow worms and adders ,unfortunatly this year my visits have been to photograph weddings,I might make an attempt next week to see if I can find a suitable spot for slow worms and then I m back at the wild pheasant for a wedding on friday.I must admit I have never really tried Llangollen for reptiles myself but my desperation for slow worms is getting the best of me.
