most of my tadpoles are 'normal' looking. 

however  i have observed several with silver tails.  is this normal? google came up with nothing.

Without pics, I'd say probably just natural variation - some taddies are just lighter than others.  You might also have a mixture of Common Frog and Common Toad tadpoles - toad tadpoles tend to be darker and actually look more like your 'typical' tadpole.

thanks for the reply, i did try taking a picture, but they move like lightening! i didn't see the spawn so i can't tell if their frogs or toads. All my froglets are common frogs. I was hoping i had a rare frog/toad species...next spring i am going to be on the look out for mating calls...and examine my spawn.
